Summary:

Wow, now that is a lengthy name for a treadmill. I guess “Smooth Fitness 7.1″ doesn’t sound cool enough. If you were wondering, Smooth Fitness is of course the brand name (manufactured by “Internet Fitness”), 7.1 is the actual model number, HR is a cool acronym for heart rate (the treadmill has a wireless heart rate monitor), and ‘Pro Power Folding’ means that this model has a motorized folding mechanism that allows the treadmill to fold at the touch of a button. This is a upper middle range treadmill isn’t worth the asking price, but more on that later.

Price:

Don’t even think about paying more than $1499 for this treadmill.

Justin’s Commentary:

This treadmill is targeting the midrange buyers - those that will run the thing pretty hard but not so much that they need a commercial product (like, guys training for a marathon or something). It includes everything one would expect from a treadmill in this price-range - it is heavy and sturdy and uses the newer large rollers - which purport to be more reliable, although this is something that is hotly debated on many treadmill discussions. If you are very tall you may want to really sprint on this and make sure the belt is long enough - 54″ is on the short side for a treadmill in this price range (most are 60″).

Choosing this treadmill would be far from a poor decision, I just personally would look at the Consumer Reports and crowd favorite Bowflex 7 instead.
